Insulina Made in Brasil

Brasília - O Laboratório Biomanguinhos, da Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz), vai passar a produzir insulina, medicamento usado no tratamento do diabetes. Um acordo firmado entre o governo e um laboratório ucraniano, que vai transferir a tecnologia, irá permitir a produção nacional do remédios, segundo o Ministério da Saúde. A previsão é que, em três anos, o Brasil passe a fabricar a droga em escala industrial. Pelo cronograma divulgado pela pasta, o início da produção de cristais de insulina pela Fiocruz começa este ano. A fábrica de produção dos cristais (princípio ativo do medicamento) estará estruturada em 2014. No ano seguinte, serão feitos testes, qualificações e ajustes técnicos para a validação das instalações produtivas. Em 2016, a transferência de tecnologia pelo laboratório Indar à Fiocruz será concluída para o início da produção em escala industrial e, em 2017, o país estará preparado para a fabricação em grande escala. "Calcula-se que a parceira entre a Fiocruz e o laboratório Indar resulte em uma economia de R$ 800 milhões para o governo brasileiro (considerando também a redução no preço dos insumos)", informou o ministério, por meio de nota. Ao todo, 7,6 milhões de brasileiros têm diabetes, dos quais 900 mil dependem exclusivamente do SistemaÚnico de Saúde (SUS). O ministério comprou estoque de 3,5 milhões de frascos de insulina para 2013. O volume será entregue em abril e poderá chegar a 10 milhões de frascos até dezembro deste ano, caso haja necessidade. Dados do governo apontam o alto índice de mortes causadas pelo diabetes - em torno de 50 mil todos os anos. A doença mata quatro vezes mais do que a aids e supera o número de vítimas do trânsito no país. Em 2010, 54 mil brasileiros morreram em decorrência do diabetes, enquanto 12 mil mortes foram provocadas pelo vírus HIV e 42 mil por acidentes de trânsito. O número seria ainda maior se considerado que o diabetes age como fator de risco para várias outros males, como câncer e doenças cardiovasculares, por exemplo. Em 2010, 68,5 mil mortes estavam associadas ao diabetes - o que totaliza 123 mil mortes diretas ou indiretamente. Em fevereiro de 2011, medicamentos para o tratamento do diabetes passaram a ser ofertados de graça dentro do Programa Saúde Não Tem Preço. O último balanço do governo indica que, desde o início da gratuidade, 4,1 milhões de pessoas receberam os remédios. O número de atendimentos passou de 306 mil, em janeiro de 2011, para 1,4 milhão, em outubro do ano passado, - um aumento de 370%

After the overwhelming success of “1st Biotechnology World Congress" the organizers feel i

mmense pleasure to announce the "2^nd Biotechnology World Congress" (2^nd BWC) to be held in Dubai, UAE, from February 18^th-21^st, 2013.
